"Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump-off" in my Lil' Kim voice.
Now that I have that song stuck in your head...whoa, whoa, whoa. Sorry, just had to add that in. Let me take the time to re-introduce myself. My name is Jadda aka Lady Boss aka Tinkerbell aka Pit-bull in a Skirt. All names given at one point or another. Either through my professional career. Or in front of my face/behind my back, while being a business owner. For the last part, yes, in theory I just stated an oxymoron, but we have all been there. You just may not be aware of the in front of your face behind your back part. Let me take the time to enlighten you. In today's society, it is politely called "shade" ...the subtle art of complimenting and disregarding you. At the same time; in the same breath. Although it is open to interpretation of it's origin, I am thoroughly convinced it was conceived and carried on bated breath when the first "bless your heart" was spoken into existence. If you have never heard that in a sentence, yaaayyyyyyy you are now an official unicorn! But my dear unicorn, I urge you to find someone quick, and have them explain it, so you know what it means when it happens to you.
I said all of that to say this, in life it does not matter what you are called. But it is important to know, what you answer too. I know I am not the first person to say this. I will admit at times these names were warranted (#checkoutmyearly20's). I used to feel bad and want to self correct to find a way to please everyone, all of the time, even at my own expense of happiness (#checkoutmylate20's). And now at the age of 37 (can't wait till I hit the ooohhhh lordy she's Forty club), join me on this journey as we explore the ups, downs, success's and failures that go into building an empire. Find out what goes on behind the scenes; why your boss is sometimes distant, why your employees see you as the second coming of the Antichrist, the joys, the frustrations, and more importantly...through these journeys either be inspired or develop a sense of empathy for those surrounding you in your daily journey.
I can not promise that it will always be easy, but I can promise that we will learn and grow together.
"or whatever else you decide to call me on this journey..."
